Have you been to Savannah, Georgia yet?
Here are a few reasons to consider taking an RV roadtrip there soon…
Savannah, the first city settled in Georgia, is located on the banks of the Savannah River in southeast corner of the state.
It is the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Lowe, the founder of Girl Scouts, and home to The Lady & Sons, the famous restaurant owned by Paula Deen.
The picturesque historic squares and centuries old mansions make it one of the most beautiful cities in the south.
There are many things to see and do in Savannah, but you won’t want to miss a river boat cruise up the river, where you’ll see the cargo ships from around the world being unloaded in the port. Ticket prices are $17.95 for adults, $9.95 for children 12 and under, and free for children 3 and under. The narrated cruise lasts one hour.
Before or after your cruise, take a stroll down River Street. With numerous shops, restaurants, and art galleries, it will take you an afternoon to see it all. You should be able to find at least one delicious praline there — a sugary confection made with brown sugar and local pecans.
At the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, you can rent or purchase a taped walking tour of the city. Or, take a horse and buggy ride and be entertained by the driver along the way.
With its rich history, Savannah has its share of hauntings. There are several ghost tours to choose from, including a “Haunted Pub Crawl“.
If you’re looking for a seaside locale, take the 18-mile drive out to Tybee Island. The Tybee Island Lighthouse has been guiding ships for 270 years. You can climb the 178 stairs to the top, then relax for the afternoon at the beach.
And don’t miss the original Williams Seafood. They have been in business since the 1930’s and are famous for their crab cakes.

My hubby and I have been living in a travel trailer and working at campgrounds and resorts for the past several years. We decide where we want to go, and look for a job there.
