RVers: The Kindle Book Reader Brings The Library But Leaves The Books Behind

kindle-book-reader-by-robertnelson.jpg One thing nice about the RV lifestyle is all the time you have to kick back, relax, and read a good book.

My wife devours mystery novels.  After a lifetime of collecting books (both hardcover and paperback), when it came time to become full time RVers the downsizing that is required was both extensive and dramatic.  It was very hard for her to let those books go.

With space limitations in our RV allowing her to keep only a small fraction of her more notable authors, the secondhand book store became her main source of new reading material.  She could trade in what she had finished reading for a new selection of books. This allowed her to keep a fresh stock while not accumulating too many books in the storage compartment under the bed.

The Kindle Book Reader is an electronic book reader that allows you to download complete books right into this computer-like device that is about the size of many hard-bound books.  No longer do you need to carry along a weighty collection of paper novels that take up precious space and add extra pounds to the load your paying to move down the highway.

At $259, the Kindle Book Reader is a bit of an investment -- especially considering the fact that downloading most books will cost you an additional $9.99, as well.  You can save yourself some dollars though. A secondhand Pocket PC purchased off eBay will work just as well and will cost you a fraction of what a new Kindle Book Reader goes for.

What better way to go green and leave the paper trail behind on your next RV adventure?...
