USI RV Park In Wichita, Kansas: A Review

After a mad dash across the country from Atlanta, Georgia to Wichita, Kansas in 2 days, we stopped for a week at USI RV Park.

The campground is right off of K-96 and I-135 in the northeast part of Wichita.

The park is small, with only about 79 campsites, but it is the cleanest park I have seen in 8 years of fulltime RV living.  There is some highway noise, but it is far enough away that you won’t notice it inside your RV.

The sites are all level and have gravel in them. There is no cable TV but there is wi-fi Internet. The wi-fi service is free for the first 30 minutes, so if all you want to do is check your email you won’t be charged for it. After the first 30 minutes, follow the instructions on your computer screen to sign up for additional service.

They accept Good Sam and FMCA membership cards for a 10% discount, and you have to show them the card to get the discount.  Full hook up sites are $36 per night, and “deluxe” sites, which will accommodate rigs over 45 feet long, are $40 per night -- before the discount.

The laundry room has 6 washers and dryers, which are also the cleanest I have ever seen. The laundry is air conditioned, which is a plus for me.

The store in the office area has a few RV supplies, ice cream, sodas and ice, as well as some Kansas souvenirs, and some "made in Kansas" items for purchase.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. They can give directions to just about anything you’d want to see or need.  Walmart, grocery stores, Green Acres Health Food Store (they have the best selection of gluten free foods I have ever seen in one place) and other shopping places are about 2 miles away.

Here is a map of the USI RV Park in Wichita, KS.

Fun Things To Do Nearby
Downtown Wichita is just minutes away. The Old Cowtown Museum, the Mid-American All-Indian Center, and Exploration Place are all part of Museums on The River, and are on the trolley tour route of downtown.

But, that's not all! Wichita also has a baseball team, a performing arts center, the Great Plains Transportation Museum, and much more.

If you are ever in Wichita, USI RV Park would be a good place to stop for the night, or for a week.
