The Fun Times Guide To RV Road Trips documents yet another fun-filled adventure of Jim & Lynnette (...plus, a few other writers).

The early posts on this RV blog highlight our planning & preparation en route to becoming full-time RV'ers. Our later entries highlight our time spent roadtripping across the USA while our custom log home is being built in Tennessee.

We started The Fun Times Guide to RV Roadtrips to help everyone from beginning RVers to full-time RVers find their way through picking out the right motorhome, choosing destinations & attractions, and maintaining an RV for the long-haul.

...It's all about having FUN in an RV!

Our Experience With RVs

While many people have driven one or maybe two RVs in their lifetime... we have been renting, borrowing, and transporting RVs for quite awhile now.

Our unique situation (a young, mobile, work-at-home couple with the ability to pick up and go on a moment's notice and having several friends in the RV business) has made it possible for us incorporate a unique form of RVing into our lifestyle.

jim-talking-on-phone-aboard-an-rv.jpgWe are fortunate that we have been able to experience and enjoy a wide variety of RVs and motorhomes from a number of different manufacturers.

Jim and I certainly have lots of stories to tell about the places we have been, our favorite motorhomes (and features), and the many ups & downs of RVing.

...enjoy the ride!

Meet Full-Time RVers: Karen & Jim
rvers-karen-and-jim-%202008.jpgHi, I'm Karen, the FabGrandma! My hubby and I have been living in a travel trailer and working at campgrounds and resorts for going on 8 years. We decide where we want to go, and look for a job there. We started out with a 32 ft Starcraft with one slideout room. Last year we purchased a new Jayco 34 ft with two slideouts, which we tow with a 1997 Ford F250 diesel truck.

During the "season" we have worked in Georgia, our home state; Texas, Florida, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Each place was beautiful in its own way. In the off season we volunteer at Georgia State Parks, usually at Unicoi State Park in Helen.

Fishing, hiking the trails, and reading are some of the things we both enjoy in our spare time. In addition, I also love quilting, sewing, jewelry making, and making my own soap. We look for farm markets and thrift stores in whatever area we are living at the moment. You never know what treasure you may find in those places.

Our four grown children who live in Georgia, Virginia, and Maryland have blessed us with four fabulous grandchildren. They come to visit us as often as they can, wherever we may be. It is fun for them to get to go to a different place on vacation each year.

I have been reading everything!! So much information.. Loved the part about Gettysburg, since we are planning on going. Also, the checklists... Would like to see something on decorating the rig, don't seee much on that.. most rigs are so bland, need way of making more homey. Good work.. am bookmaking it NOW..
